Colorful Movement
After a busy work week, there is nothing like investing on something fun.
Last Saturday, my friends and I attended Color in Motion in DC. It was a 5k color run to fundraise for Make a Wish Foundation.

Amazing things definitely come out from having fun.

Grab. Smash. Toss. Repeat
I have always been fascinated by festivals all over the world. One frequently televised is the La Tomatina held in Spain. It is the world’s biggest food fight with tomatoes held every year. I was very glad to discover that certain areas in the US are reenacting this famous festival. Proceeds of this year’s DC tomato bash went to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
It was such a fun experience. This is Ian and I after surviving the toss.

Art Escape
I was able to visit Artscape over the weekend. It is said to be the largest free arts festival in America.
Indeed, it was. This place was filled with interesting people: looking for art, making art and being art.
Truly, art is an escape and the world is our canvas.

Closer to Home: Longwood Gardens
One thing I promised myself growing up is to never stop exploring especially places closer to home. The places close to us become the trips we put off. One can always rationalize that there will always be time to visit, and then sadly for most people, that opportunity never really comes.
So, I am making a point to visit those places closer to home this summer. I am starting at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.

The beautiful things about road trips are the random side trips you end up taking when you stumble upon something beautiful. This covered bridge is one of the few left in Maryland.
and here's Longwood Gardens...
There is more to explore, even close to home.
